I Couldn't Let This One Pass

Pig's Head Thrown Into Maine Mosque During Prayers

Pigs are considered unclean by Muslims, who are barred from eating pork, and the act was viewed as a deliberate insult against the religion.
Nooooooooo, ya think??? But this is the part that cracked me up:

When the pig's head rolled in, the men got up and ran outside.
Are pig heads that scary?

Someone explain please.

Ahhh. Bowling For Muslims.

I would have loved to have seen that. Tears rolling down my face, pissing my pants while rolling around on the ground laughing. I just know it.

Bowling for Muslims.. that's clever. hehe

It's really offensive. Nobody laughs at swastikas spray-painted on synagogues. Why are Muslims suddenly okay to make fun of? Because a small number of them committed terrorist acts, it makes it okay to insult the ones who are praying?

Better to laugh than the alternative. Basically I think everyone is pretty much sick of being scared of anyone Muslim. I support freedom of religion of any type, but I do not support what they consider as their allah-given right to suicide bomb anyone they take a dislike to. Yes, I do understand that it is a radical group that believe that way, and I have seen "mumblings" from the rest of the Muslim faith to disavow itself from the fanticism that thinks it is okay to handle situations that way, but there isn't enough being done by their own to put a stop to it. I consider that passive aggressive agreement with the radicals that carry out such deeds.

I find it very ironic that a faith that has no qualms whatsoever about strapping a bomb to itself and blowing up hundreds of innocent bystanders, along with themselves, would run screaming from the room at the sight of a pig head.

Yes, I had to laugh.

A pig head rolling around on the floor as opposed to human arms, legs and heads rolling around on the floor. Yeah, that's some trade-off.
I think I'll grill some pork chops for dinner this weekend in celebration.

Talk to someone who is actually Muslim, I think you will find that they do not consider themselves to have an "allah-gven right to suicide bomb anyone they take a dislike to" and that their religion actually speaks loudly against such behaviour.

All groups (religious, ethnic, etc.) have their zealous few who go well past the line of decency and commit atrocious acts. Do we paint them all with the same brush?

Have you heard about the Japanese internment camps during World War Two? This was where Americans and Canadians of Japanese descent had their property and possessions taken away from them, and they were holed up in concentration camps. These were not enemy sympathizers, they were simply born in the wrong country.

After Timothy McVeigh blew up the federal building in Oklahoma City, did we suddenly rush to condemn anyone who had ever spoken out against the government, ever?

When a couple of kids shot up Columbine High School, did we suddenly become suspicious of all teenagers and lock down all the homes that had children age 13 to 18 in them?

It's just to wrong to tar and feather an entire group of mostly peace-loving people, when the acts were carried out by a small number of them and condemned by the rest of the group.

You said there is not enough being done by their own to put a stop to it, what exactly do you suggest they are capable of doing that law enforcement officials are not already doing??

"A faith that has no qualms whatsoever about strapping a bomb to itself and blowing up hundreds of innocent bystanders" -- that doesn't describe Islam at all, just the nutball fanaticism of a small minority of Muslims. The rest of them abhor such violence.

Ever hear of the Christian faith? Because of a fanatical few all Christians are vilified. Because a few thought blowing up abortion clinics was a good idea at the time, the rest of the Christian faith is looked upon with ridicule.

Radical Muslims have proven that laws have no meaning to them, but they will listen to their Muslim leaders. For the most part the Muslim leaders are encouraging their actions. There are a rare few who timidly speak up against what is being carried out, but from what I have seen these few have not gotten enough support to be a true voice of the Muslim faith.

We can have an ongoing debate about this.. but mostly I think it is Americans who are Muslim targets. I have yet to see a Canadian flag being burned, Canadian citizens being targeted or anyone chanting "Death to Canada." If that ever happens you may see more clearly where the attitude comes from.

It gets old. Americans, or at least this one, is tired of being scared.

That's simply not true, not in the United States at least! I would love to see some evidence to back that up.

The part I don't get is that you have THIS one group of Muslims over here who are horrible evil terrorists and deserve to be punished or worse, but instead you go after THAT other group of Muslims over there who have not done anything wrong and are simply peacefully praying when you go and roll a pig's head into their mosque. What did THEY ever do??

Honestly, I don't think that the U.S. is in any danger from 99%+ of its Muslim population!

I will not speculate as to why Americans seem to be a target. I will say that is neither deserved nor random.

No I will agree with you about the 99% of the Muslim people in the U.S. are peaceful.

You are, however, equating the rolling of a pig's head into a church as a violent act. I did not personally roll the pig's head into their midst. I simply found it funny, as I have an irreverent sense of humor.

(I have also told my son he could get a tattoo as long as it is a pentagram, because my ex-husband is a very devout Christian and it would pretty much give him a stroke. Although I seriously wouldn't allow it, the thought makes me giggle, just as the pig incident did with the Muslims.)

I am not advocating violence against anyone, and I am not afraid to park across the street from the Muslim church that is a half a block from where I work every day. My only issue with them is that they hog (no pun intended) the parking spaces on Fridays at 2:00.

If you want political correctness, you are looking in the wrong place.
