One of my Favorite Haunts

I live in Savannah. Anyone who has ever come to Savannah for touristy purposes will recognize the name of Bonaventure Cemetery. If you have seen the movie Midnight in the Garden of Good & Evil, you will have seen a bit of it. It is supposedly haunted, but since it closes at 5:00 in the afternoon I doubt I'll ever get to see any ghosts, unless they happen to be early birds.

There is good reason that Bonaventure Cemetery is a tourist area, it is absolutely beautiful there. It is almost like walking through an outdoor museum, witih all the statues, and the hanging moss. It sits against a saltwater river and sometimes, if you are very lucky, you will see dolphins there. I saw a baby dolphin once. Being born and raised a landlubber, I was in awe.

There are activities that went on here that I think back fondly on. ;-)

More pictures here if you are interested.

I may go out there this weekend and take my own pictures. I couldn't find any of the stained glass.

This is the place, huh?

Let me guess. You took the 'evil' side.

It wasn't evil at all.. it was very good.

Would you care to elaborate, please?

Very cool. The only time I was in Savannah I was just passing through (on the way to Florida). I need to go back again and stay for more than a second. (Well, technically I was there for more than a second...I even ate at the Cracker Barrel right off I-95. That's probably not the best thing Savannah has to offer though.)

If you are ever down this way Parlancheq, let me know ahead of time and I'll buy you dinner. Although that Cracker Barrell happens to be a good place to eat, it doesn't necessarily reflect Savannah. ;-)
